13 ans film

I've recently watched a short movie on vimeo which really got my attention. It is a French film called "13 ans" (13 years) and unfortunately it's not in English but as a Tunisian guy, I'm a French speaker and I understood every single thing those actors said in that film. It is really a very touching story revealing so much emotion and love. So delightful and unique, the French director Rudi Rosenburg finds his way in depicting the sacred first love of the young boy Jonathan who fals in love with the prettiest girl in his school. A typical love of every young teen who wants the most wanted girl in his environment. Not having enough courage to present his love to Julie, the young guy manages to steal her personal diary thinking that might help him figure out a way to impress his beloved girl. However, that woudn't happen without Julie's brother Charles who used to be Jonathan's friend but not anymore after various fights which occured between the two classmates.

But Jonathan and Charles are back together again in some way so the young lover was successful in stealing the girl's diary and rushes back home to read it. In one of the diary pages, he found a red heart with his name in it and to his surprise he was so thrilled and happy to notice that. Unfortunately he discovered later that the diary is not Julie's.What's really astonishing about the film is the performance of the young actors whom Rudi, apparently, has chosen perfectly. Their action and emotions during the film is awesome. Although it was their first experience in acting, those young actors built a compact picture of teen love and especially of teen behaviour. They are so dynamic and almost well developed in playing their role. 13 ans is a refreshing work bringing back an ultimate memory of my old days in the eyes of Jonathan and I strongly advise you to watch that magnificent piece of art. Well too bad the movie is available only in French subtitles but don't worry about that you can require English subtitles if you're interested. The film is available on youtube and vimeo.
